Animations, background videos, and autoplaying sliders can cause differences between screenshots even when the page content has not changed. The new reduce_motion option helps make those captures more consistent.

Enable it with reduce_motion=true:

https://api.screenshotone.com/take?access_key=<your access key>&url=https://example.com/&full_page=true&reduce_motion=true

The API attempts to finish finite animations, pause looping animations and native media playback, and stop autoplay in supported sliders. For full-page screenshots captured by sections, it also rechecks animations before capturing each section.

The option defaults to false. Unlike reduced_motion, which only sets a browser preference that websites may honor, reduce_motion actively reduces motion. It also enables the reduced-motion preference, so you do not need to set both options.

This is best-effort, not a guarantee that every animation will stop or that screenshots will be pixel-identical. Custom JavaScript animations, canvas rendering, and animated images may still need site-specific handling.

See the option documentation and the full-page screenshot guide for details. If you encounter a page where motion still causes rendering issues, please contact support@screenshotone.com.
